This notice explains how sellrecords.co.uk handles enquiries for its direct record-buying service. Updated 15 October 2026.
SellRecords (sole trader), trading through sellrecords.co.uk, is a record-buying business based in Saffron Walden, covering London, Essex, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Suffolk. For privacy questions or requests, email hello@sellrecords.co.uk with the subject “Privacy request”.
Our enquiry form asks for your name, email address, town or postcode, an optional telephone number, the approximate size of your collection and any details and optional record photographs you choose to provide. Please avoid including sensitive personal information or other people’s contact details unnecessarily.
We use the details to respond to you, discuss your records, assess whether we can make an offer and arrange a sale if agreed. Where you ask us to consider buying your collection, this processing is to take steps at your request before entering a contract. We also process technical records where necessary for our legitimate interests in keeping the website secure and preventing spam or misuse.
Providing information is voluntary. We need a way to contact you and enough information to understand your enquiry; without these we may be unable to respond or assess your collection.
New enquiries through the direct-buying form are sent to the business’s enquiry inbox and stored in WordPress. They are not distributed to a network of registered record dealers. The website’s hosting and email service providers process information as necessary to operate these services. Our business email is hosted by GoDaddy and incoming mail is also copied to our Gmail inbox. We do not sell your personal information.
This notice does not authorise reuse of information collected under the previous dealer-matching service for a different purpose. Contact us if you have a question about an older submission.
The website and its security tools may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser details, request logs and spam checks. Some functions use cookies or similar browser storage. Font files are requested from Google Fonts, which can receive technical connection information such as your IP address. External links have their own privacy notices.
Our email and other service providers may process information outside the UK. Their terms and privacy information explain how they handle that processing. See Google’s privacy policy for information about Google services.
Retention depends on the purpose: handling the enquiry, completing an agreed purchase, resolving queries or disputes, and meeting applicable record-keeping obligations. You can ask us about the records held for your enquiry or request deletion where applicable. We should not retain information longer than needed for these purposes.
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct or erase your information, restrict or object to processing, and receive portable data. Some rights are subject to legal exceptions. Email hello@sellrecords.co.uk to make a request.
